MAGNIFICENT MARINE MIGRATIONS

Explore the mysteries and wonders of the World’s oceans.  This 20 module series for science educators includes geospatial lessons on migrations, fisheries, conservation issues, and marine science research.  Students will explore Oceanography, Marine Science, Geography, Technology and Earth Science National Standards using the scientific method and inquiry based lessons. Each lesson features a simulation of field research, interview with a scientist, geospatial  datasets and map.   Students will embark on a global exploration of the worlds oceans, meet marine researchers and use  the Scientific Method to ask and answer a research question.

A multi-chapter workbook featuring geospatial data sets and inquiry based modules that highlight the work of scientists, emphasizing real world science techniques and practices. Each lesson includes an exploration of a different oceanic species or conservation issue, emphasizing the geographical movements of migrating animals, and the use of maps as tools of science.
